About Iris Moreau, Handmade Pottery Artist and Founder of Papillon Pottery
I’m Iris Moreau, a handmade pottery artist and the creator of Papillon Pottery. “Papillon” means butterfly in French, and that sense of freedom, transformation, and joyful expression is at the heart of everything I create. My work is guided by curiosity—color combinations that surprise me, textures that tell a story, and forms that feel playful, organic, and alive.
Each piece in my collection is handcrafted from start to finish, shaped in small batches, and finished with hand-mixed glazes that give every vessel, bowl, and mug its own personality. I believe pottery should spark emotion. Whether it’s a bold textured vase or a softly glazed bowl, each piece is designed to bring warmth, beauty, and character into your home.
My hope is that when you hold one of my pieces, you feel the intention behind it: the movement of the clay, the layers of glaze, the joyful imperfections that make handmade pottery so special. Even a single piece can elevate a room, shift the atmosphere, and make a space feel uniquely yours.
If you’re interested in a custom design or a piece created just for you, I welcome commissions. You can reach me directly at papillonblue65@gmail.com.
